PLAIN and the City of Pine Lake are partnering to create a Nita Towns Memorial Bench and Garden. Her memorial’s proposed location is the northwestern part of the lake with the three river birch trees. Nita did not want the city to spend any money (typical Nita), so PLAIN is collecting donations for the city to purchase a bench and means of securing the bench. Volunteers will transplant flowers from Nita’s garden in the autumn to create a new Nita garden near her bench and the trees.
