THANKS! PLAIN Meeting – 09/15/2016 – Beach House – 7:00 PM

IMG_0062Thanks! Because of many Pine Lakers’ donations. we have surpassed our goal of funding Nita Towns’ bench and garden. The cost was $680.75 and we raised $764.25; we will use the extra funds to purchase dirt and supplies for the garden we will transplant and create in the autumn. We appreciate you honoring Nita with your donation and support.

Also, thanks to the many volunteers and attendees at our International Dinner who provided a great evening of food, fellowship, and a Broadway show at the Pine Lake Lounge.

Our PLAIN meeting is Thursday, September 15, 7:00 PM at the Beach House. Join us as we prepare for many of our fall events including LakeFest participation, Halloween Family Party, our upcoming breakfasts, and Lighting of Lake and Cookie exchange on December 3. Hope to see you there!

Nita Towns Memorial Donation

Nita Towns

PLAIN and the City of Pine Lake are partnering to create a Nita Towns Memorial Bench and Garden. Her memorial’s proposed location is the northwestern part of the lake with the three river birch trees. Nita did not want the city to spend any money (typical Nita), so PLAIN is collecting donations for the city to purchase a bench and means of securing the bench.  Volunteers will transplant flowers from Nita’s garden in the autumn to create a new Nita garden near her bench and the trees. Please donate any amount in honor of this great Pine Lake Matriarch through the PayPal button below. THANKS!
