Pancake Breakfast – Sat 4/2 at 8:30am

Please come help Lois cook on Saturday! The crew is meeting at 7am at the Beach House and at this point is a bit short-staffed. We need 2 or 3 more folks to help.

Good times – there’s just no bonding like standing over the griddles together, spatulas in hand. All the pans full of steaming scrambled eggs and pancakes, happy neighbors with plates in hand and hungry looks – such a deep down satisfaction. AND, big news . . . PLAIN has sprung for Brand new, uber-fabulous NEW GRIDDLES!! Be a part of the first breakfast crew to try them out! Call Lois and tell her you’ll be there to help so she’ll stop stressing.

Everyone come out for the PLAIN Pancake breakfast at the Beach House:
8:30-10:30 (food starts running out around 10)
$6. for PLAIN members and seniors 60+
$7. for non-PLAIN members
$3. for kids 5-12 (under 5 eat free)
Take $1. off if you go green and bring your own plates and utensils.

See you at breakfast!

PLAIN Meeting – Thu 3/10 at 7:30pm (CH)

Good morning. There is a PLAIN general membership meeting tonight at 7:30. We are meeting at the Clubhouse. We’ll be getting an update from Kini on preparations for the Easter Egg Hunt, a debriefing from Lalah on the Pancake Breakfast and looking at a mock up from Sign-O-Rama for new yard signs. I have another sign quote and other ideas to kick around about replacing our dilapidated/duct tape signs.

Your input is needed, so come on out!

Lighting of the Lake, Cookie Exchange – Sat 12/4 at 6pm

Join us for a holiday gathering this coming Saturday evening! Cookie exchange*, carols, and other miscellany prior to the lighting of the reindeer outside. It all begins at 6pm at the beach house. Dress warmly!

If you have a song you’d like to share with your neighbors, a story to tell, or a short skit with which to amuse, please let me know. We’re open to options!

*Cookie exchange: Bring in 4 dozen homemade cookies, we’ll put 1 dozen out for consumption during the merriment that precedes the Lighting of the Lake, and then mix up and distribute the other 3 dozen so each person goes home with a cornucopia of cookies. Eat them yourself, take them to the next holiday party, or feed the homeless — you’ve got choices.

Pancake Breakfast – Sat 12/4 at 8:30am

Santa is coming to Pine Lake! He will be at the Pancake Breakfast this coming Saturday starting at 9 AM (December 4th). There will be a sign up sheet for those who want to take a picture with Santa.

For those of you who have not been to this event, PLAIN volunteers will take pictures then print and deliver your picture with Santa later. The pictures with Santa are free; breakfast is not.

This is also the last pancake breakfast hosted by our regular crew of ten years. Please come down on Saturday to thank them for their many years of service.

Thanksgiving Caring and Sharing – 11/19

It’s time once again to start collecting food and monetary donations for our Thanksgiving Caring and Sharing food baskets.
For many years Pine Lake neighbors have been donating food, gift cards and money to help our neighbors who are having a hard time making ends meet, because of unemployment, illness or other unavoidable circumstances. The gift cards and money are used to purchase food and each basket contains enough food the families needs for a couple of weeks. If you would like to help a neighbor in need, please contact Faye Ridling.

If you are in need of help or you know someone who is, please contact Faye. All information is kept in strict confidence and no one except me and the person helping deliver the food baskets, will know who the recipients are. If you refer someone for help, you will not be told if they are a recipient, unless they tell you. The deadline for donations and the neighbor referrals is:
November 19, 2010.

Thank you in advance for Caring and Sharing,
Faye Ridling
