The new year brings a new look for PLAIN! Memorize our URL now, we’ll be sharing lots of great content with the community: www.PlainHelps.org. Check out our calendar of events, learn about our community outreach, sign up to volunteer, renew your membership, and much more!
NEIGHBORS TO NEIGHBORS
PLAIN has merged our Caring and Sharing program and the Food Bank donation program. They are now one combined program, called Neighbors To Neighbors. Our goal is to foster the spirit of community within Pine Lake by:
- Supporting the vitality of the Pine Lake community as it grows and develops with changes around us.
- Providing opportunities for our members to contribute to the community.
- Using the unique strength of the Pine Lake community to create positive change, in specific ways, in the broader community around us.
- Becoming a more integrated member of the central DeKalb County community.
HERO NEIGHBORS
Each month we’d like to appreciate a notable Hero Neighbor, someone who goes above and beyond for our community.
This month we’d like to recognize Thomas Torrent & Tim McLeod, for bringing us Pine Lake’s very first Pride Lake! They put in a ton of work and created a fun and inclusive event for all. We look forward to this being an annual event!
OPEN PLAIN POSITIONS: ISO SECRETARY & SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER
We are looking for a great community member to join our board and serve as Secretary! The role entails keeping notes during minutes and publishing our monthly Plain & Simple newsletter.
We also need help amplifying all the great things happening with PLAIN in and around Pine Lake. We’re searching for someone who is willing and able to help with community communication.
